On 4 July, the new constituted BoardOn 4 July, the new constituted Board of Directors of the Italian Management Association was officially installed for the three-year period 2025–2028. This is an important moment for our academic community, offering an opportunity to renew our collective commitment to the advancement of management
as a discipline and as a lever for change in our country.
Representing a wide range of geographical, generational and scientific backgrounds, the new Board of Directors comprises colleagues from nineteen Italian universities who are collectively motivated by a shared objective to strengthen SIMA's role. Despite their diverse profiles, the Board of Directors members share a distinctive trait: a desire to contribute actively and responsibly to the development of our society.
The statutory positions are assigned as follows:
In my brief inaugural speech, I first expressed my gratitude for the trust placed in me.
Being called to lead SIMA is a great honour for me, but above all a responsibility to be fulfilled with a spirit of service, a willingness to listen and attention to the values that bring us together.
Three key words will guide the path for the next three years: continuity, collaboration and community.
First and foremost, continuity with the virtuous path traced in recent years. SIMA is now a recognised association on the national and international scientific scene. This path has been built with patience, vision and rigour.
Collaboration, as a working style within the Board of Directors and as an approach towards the outside world. The challenges that await us require new synergies: between universities, between generations, between academia and business, between disciplines and territories. SIMA will continue to invest in international relations, interdisciplinary dialogue and projects with a high social impact, strengthening its links with sister networks and associations.
Finally, community as a founding value: SIMA is made up of people, teachers and researchers who work every day, in departments and classrooms, to train new generations and produce useful knowledge. A diverse reality, united by a common aspiration to build competent, responsible and aware leadership. Giving voice to this community, supporting its growth and promoting its talents will be the priority of our mandate.
We firmly believe that SIMA's value lies precisely in the active participation of its members: in the Thematic Groups, in the Campus Representatives, in conferences, in our Festival, in the Summer and Winter Schools, in publications and in impact projects. For this reason, we will work to make our Society even more inclusive, transparent and participatory, open to all voices and energies that wish to contribute.
I invite each of you to participate, offer suggestions, and get involved. Your ideas, observations, and proposals are crucial to building an open, dynamic, rigorous, and responsive SIMA.
Finally, I would like to once again thank the members of the Board of Directors and the members active in projects and groups. I would also like to thank the outgoing President, Arabella Mocciaro Li Destri, for her competence, dedication and extraordinary elegance in dealing with even the most complex phases of her mandate.
A new journey is now beginning, which we will tackle with enthusiasm, commitment and team spirit.
