From 4 to 6 February 2026, the SIMA-SIM-BAM School of Research Methods - Winter Edition 2026 was held in the evocative setting of the Palazzo delle Arti “Beltrani” in Trani, focusing on the theme of Academic Writing.
Organised in collaboration with the British Academy of Management, the School brought together a highly motivated group of doctoral students and early-career researchers from numerous Italian and international universities. In an intimate and intellectually vibrant environment, strongly oriented toward scholarly exchange, participants engaged in three intensive days devoted to academic writing practices in the fields of management, marketing, and consumer behaviour.
The programme systematically addressed the various stages involved in developing a scholarly article, with particular attention to structuring the theoretical contribution, ensuring clarity of argumentation, presenting methods and results effectively, and crafting the discussion and theoretical and managerial implications.
An internationally distinguished faculty ensured a high-quality learning experience, combining methodological rigour, editorial expertise, and close attention to the practical needs of emerging scholars. The alternation between lectures, interactive discussions, and applied examples fostered an intense and participatory learning climate, strongly oriented toward individual development.
Above all, the Winter School represented a valuable opportunity for both human and scholarly exchange, enabling participants to share doubts, challenges, and aspirations related to the craft of research and academic writing.
As the Winter School concludes, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to the faculty members - Professors Domen Bajde, Silvia Biraghi, Claudio Giachetti, Marco Visentin, and Emily Yarrow - for the passion with which they shared their expertise, research experience, and invaluable editorial advice. We also extend our heartfelt thanks to all participants for their enthusiasm, commitment, and the high quality of the discussions that enriched the working sessions, contributing to the creation of an intellectually stimulating learning environment. We are especially grateful for the support of the University of Bari and Professor Luca Petruzzellis, whose contribution was instrumental to the organisational and logistical success of the initiative.
Finally, we wish to acknowledge the Società Italiana di Management (SIMA), the Società Italiana Marketing (SIM), and the British Academy of Management (BAM) for their continued support of the School of Research Methods and their ongoing investment in the development of future generations of scholars.
