Piccola Impresa / Small Business invites scholars to submit their original papers to the special issue “Crisis and resilience in family businesses”. This special issue is looking for interdisciplinary studies (e.g. innovation, strategy, international affairs) that improve our understanding of the resilience of family businesses and their behavior towards crises and critical events. We welcome conceptual, qualitative, quantitative empirical contributions and mixed methods Examples of research questions could be:
-How did family businesses handle the Covid-19 pandemic crisis?
- How did they provide a resilient response to the crisis?
- What resources and skills have family businesses exploited
- How do family businesses use unused resources to absorb and adapt to external shocks?
- How do family businesses manage interorganizational networks to overcome crises?
- What is the role of open innovation processes in helping family businesses to cope with crises? manage the crisis?
- What role did the family play in promoting resilience?
- Are long-term family businesses more resilient than younger ones?
