Dear Colleagues,
We are happy to inform you that the SIMA “Make IT a Case” competition for 22-23, for management students has ended. This year, 17 universities, 1744 students and 333 cases have participated.
The jury, composed of Angelo Riviezzo (University of Sannio), Cristina Lazzati (Mark Up) and Alberto Motta (Sella Group) selected the following winners:
- La Pietra - Università LUM – Prof. Angeloantonio Russo
- Babaco Market - Sapienza Università di Roma – Prof. Raffaella Montera
- Mulinun - Università Magna Graecia di Catanzaro – Prof. Maria Colurcio
Congratulations to all the winning teams for their excellent analytical skills and innovative proposals. We also thank the professors who passionately guided the teams. Special thanks to the companies for opening the doors of their businesses, facilitating the exchange and helping to create unique experiences.
We are also trilled to announce what’s new for the next edition!
The Make IT a Case initiative will be supported by Invitalia as part of the project “Actions for the promotion and dissemination of women’s entrepreneurial culture”, funded by PNRR.
This partnership will enable us to deliver an exceptional edition filled, rich in content and benefits for both teachers and students engaged in the program.
As professors, we are once again challenged to explore new solutions for active learning, not only to enhance the theoretical knowledge but also to improve soft skills, such as teamwork and creativity, which are highly demanded by the job market.
In addition to being an educational tool, the new edition of Make IT a Case will pursue three main objectives. Firstly, in line with the previous years and remaining faithful to the project’s philosophy, the competition aims to promote Italian excellence among the young generation. Secondly, in this new edition, we intend to highlight business cases operating in sectors of strategic importance for our country.
Finally, this year’s most important update: Make IT a Case also aims to promote and spread women’s entrepreneurship culture in Italian universities.
The new rules of the competition and the digital kit will be available online soon.
We invite you to fill out the form to receive updates on the upcoming edition’s news.
In conclusion, we would like to close by recalling a quote by Albert Einstein: “I have never taught my students anything; I have only tried to put them in the best conditions to learn”. We believe that integrating "Make IT a Case" into the teaching of our own courses can effectively help us create better conditions for learning our subjects.
Have a great semester
LLaura Michelini & Angelo Riviezzo
