Dear Colleagues,
The next edition of the Sinergie-SIMA Management Conference will be held in Parma, the Petite Capitale,on the 13th and 14th of June 2024. The University of Parma, together with Sinergie and SIMA, is committed to ensuring that this meeting will meet the expectations of the management community, both in scientific and relational terms.
The 2024 Conference will explore the theme of "Management of Sustainability and Well-Being for Individuals and Society" through plenary sessions with distinguished keynote speakers from the academic and business sectors, and through parallel sessions enriched by scientific contributions from management scholars. The first day of the event will be held at the Italian headquarters of Crédit Agricole, Crédit Agricole Green Lifea working environment immersed in 70 thousand square meters of parkland and totally sustainable, in perfect harmony with the conference theme. On the second day, activities will continue at the historic Oltretorrente, at the Department of Economics and Management. Oltretorrente, presso il Dipartimento di Scienze Economiche e Aziendali.
You are all invited to participate by presenting original long and/or short papers that aim to deepen knowledge of the conference theme, as well as the topics being researched by the SIMA Thematic Groups. The decision, already taken in the previous edition of the Sinergie-SIMA conference, to designate the Thematic Groups as the reference point for the structure of the parallel sessions of the conference, is intended to create value for the participants in two ways. The first is the implementation of an effective and rigorous peer review process, through the selection of referees from among the most competent experts in the field and the evaluation of the quality of their comments by the authors. The second is the possibility to leverage the internationalization efforts of the SIMA Thematic Groups by organizing tracks in collaboration with Other prestigious academies in the field of management
The presentation of case studies is also strongly encouraged, demonstrating SIMA's commitment to building bridges between the Academic and the Business world. Contributions from academics experienced in management disciplines will be discussed in a dedicated parallel session and considered for publication in Pearson's Management&Marketing Cases digital series.
Building on the success of previous editions, the appointment with the editors of leading national and international academic journals is confirmed for an increasingly useful and necessary comparison.
The pre-conference activities are principally dedicated to young researchers. On the 12th of June 2024, the day before the official start of the conference, PhD students and research fellows will be able to discuss their publication projects with national and international scholars during the Paper Development Workshop. The social activities organized at the end of the PDW, in collaboration with SIMA NEXTGen, will be an opportunity to forge links between young scholars, have a great time and discover Parma.
There will be opportunities for socializing during the conference days, starting with the gala dinner that will be hosted at the splendid headquarters of the Magnani-Rocca Foundation. The dinner will be held in the shade of the Himalayan cedar in the 12-hectare romantic park, which was once the holiday home of noble families before being inhabited by Luigi Magnani, passionate art scholar, music critic, collector and friend of the Bolognese painter Giorgio Morandi
At the end of the conference, the efforts of those who have generously contributed to our community will be recognized with the award of the following prizes
The deadline for the submission of full papers is February 15th 2024 and for short papers and case studies March 15th 2024.
We look forward to seeing you and your colleagues in Parma!
Guido Cristini, Beatrice Luceri, Arabella Mocciaro Li Destri e Marta Ugolini
