OBJECTIVES AND TARGETS OF THE COURSE
The course targets PhD students, collaborators and research fellows and all those who feel the need to consolidate the basics of the methodology for social research.
It will be a real full immersion in research methodologies and methods.
International professors who have published their research results in TOP JOURNAL of marketing and management will alternate in the classroom.
Within the school, the students will address, among others, these issues:
- Introduction to quantitative research (Matteo Corciolani): Survey design and scales, the most used quantitative methods and their fields of application, T-test and ANOVA, Correlation and regression;
- Introduction to qualitative research (Giacomo Del Chiappa): Case study, Research diary, Etnografie/Netnografie, Visual Method, Mixed Method;
- Esperimenti (Giampaolo Viglia): Experimental Design: Correlation, Causality, Randomization, Laboratory Experiments vs. field experiments, Statistical tests to analyze experimental data.
In addition, students will be followed in the classroom by Francesco Testa and Guido Bortoluzzi for the entire duration of the course and in two specific sessions (Monday afternoon and Friday morning) during which students will be able to discuss their research projects and the application of methodologies and techniques learned in the classroom with the teachers.

LOCATION OF THE COURSE
The course will be held at the SIAF in Volterra, a campus entirely dedicated to high-level training and also equipped with a gym with air conditioning and Technogym® equipment, a multi-purpose soccer and tennis court, and a swimming pool available to students. Accommodation will be in single rooms, each with its own bathroom, air conditioning, satellite TV, Wi.Fi connection.
A shuttle will be made available to participants that will accompany the students on the morning of Monday 22 from Florence S.M.N. at the SIAF campus (departure scheduled for 11:00) and will accompany them back to Florence S.M.N. in the early afternoon of Friday 26 (expected arrival at 15:30). Regular: The registration fee is € 650 for SIMA / SIM members and € 750 for non-members (conditions valid for registrations made after May 13th. Partially refundable rate: 50% for cancellations received by July 6th. Non-refundable for cancellations received after July 6th)

Against the disbursement of the contribution, a receipt will be issued in order to allow any
reimbursement from the structures to which they belong.
In all cases, the registration fee includes: enrollment at the school, overnight stay on the Campus for 4 nights (Monday-Thursday), full board (American buffet breakfast, self-service lunch and dinner), free use of SIAF sports and recreational facilities, shuttle transfer to and from Florence SMN station Accommodation will be in single rooms, each equipped with bathroom, air conditioning, satellite TV, WiFi connection.
