This special issue focuses on the questions and potential benefits for management scholars related to conducting \"unconventional or unconventional\" research, which are placed at the intersection of dimensions that traditionally create divisions between communities and theories. The special issue looks for both conceptual studies that focus on ways to bridge the divergences present in management studies, and empirical works that address the analysis of phenomena through the adoption of different approaches.
