Dear Members,

Performing good reviews is extremely important for advancing research in management.

A good reviewer will typically provide you with some creative and developmental insights to refine your papers' theory/conceptual section, to make your paper's methodology more rigorous and consistent, to improve its discussion section so as to contribute to theory and (possibly) practice. In a nutshell, a good reviewer is a fundamental premise to develop a manuscript towards an outstanding paper.

However, performing and writing a good review is all but an easy task: it requires having developed a personal theoretical background, an in-depth knowledge of various methods and their major applications, and mastering analytical and communication skills.

The series of seminars featuring this NEW initiative of the SIMA-SIM School of Research Methods, together with SIMA NextGen, is aimed at providing an initial but comprehensive overview about “how to review” papers, by making a clear-cut distinction between qualitative (Prof. Massimo Picone, 13th February) and quantitative (Prof. Annamaria Tuan and Marco Visintin, 29th February) papers. It also aims at letting you learn how to “reply to the reviewers reports” in the letter to the editor and reviewers (prof. Davide Ravasi, 14th March) and thus in taking a further step to be ready for navigating sensibly your journey in the academic world.

The seminars are in English and are online.

The participation is for free for SIMA-SIM Members, registering via the platform https://societaitalianamanagement.it/attivita/scuole/inside-the-academic-editorial-process-how-to-improve-your-skills-to-perform-a-perfect-paper-review/ within February 9th.
